You can use the protection scroll when upgrading a specialist card of level 15-19. Even if the upgrade fails, the card's soul remains.

The protection effect begins once you double-click on the scroll.
Double-clicking again makes the effect disappear.
(In this case, no scroll is used.)
If you attempt to upgrade a specialist card while under the effect of the scroll, you will use up one SP Protection Scroll each time.
